Mr. Ehrlich is an active participant with many professional and civic organizations. He is a well-known lecturer and author of intellectual property topics. He is the co-author of “Cases and Materials on the Misuse and Antirust Aspects of Intellectual Property Law” for the John Marshall Law School. Additionally, Mr. Ehrlich has presented before Fortune 500 and other publicly and closely-held companies, trade associations and bar associations.

Professional Profile

Burton S. Ehrlich is a partner at Ladas & Parry and chairs the litigation department for the firm. Throughout his career of over 30 years, he has helped clients consider issues in all phases of intellectual property matters, including litigation and adversarial proceedings in Federal District Courts throughout the U.S., in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, in the United States Patent & Trademark Office, and in assisting in foreign litigation and adversarial matters, some of which reached the highest Courts of said jurisdictions. He has counseled foreign and domestic clients and litigated complex patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, advertising, franchising, licensing and antitrust matters. He has been involved in hundreds of Federal Court cases and Patent and Trademark Office adversarial matters. In Federal Court cases alone he has been lead counsel in well over 100 Federal cases and well over 100 Patent and Trademark Office opposition or cancellation proceedings. Before joining Ladas & Parry, Mr. Ehrlich was a managing partner at Brezina and Ehrlich, where he practiced for over 15 years, later also being co-managing partner at another intellectual property firm and still later he was a partner at an approximate 150 lawyer firm where he was the Chairman of the Intellectual Property Department. After joining Ladas & Parry he quickly rose to full partner status and Chair of its Intellectual Property Litigation Department.
