7. Conclusion


Federal and State legislation pertaining to the regulation of electronic commerce will continue to expand in response to the increasing use of technology in commercial and consumer transactions. Electronic commerce offers tremendous benefits on a global scale to all types of businesses, organizations and institutions who seek to take advantage of this technology. It is for this reason that both the Federal government and the States will continue to pass legislation that addresses the most critical aspects of the burgeoning new economy.
