David C. Brezina joins Ladas & Parry LLP

The firm is pleased to announce that David C. Brezina has joined the firm’s Chicago Office as Of Counsel.

Dave Brezina, formerly of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, has extensive experience in patent and trademark prosecution and litigation.

Burt Ehrlich, the head of litigation in Ladas & Parry’s Chicago Office reports “It will be great to work with Dave, since he is a completely known quantity to me. Not only did Dave and I go to law school together, but for many years we worked together in litigation at the intellectual property law firm originally created by his grandfather over 75 years ago and where his father was a senior partner. We did frontline duty at a relatively small law firm that had a longstanding blue chip client base, including Fortune 500 companies.”

“Most importantly,” says Dave Brezina “I grew up learning that clients come first and the people and systems here let us focus on efficient and effective client service.”

“I have known Dave for most of my career through our work together in service to the organized bar, and have always admired his scholarship and keen strategic thinking, “ says Fred Meyers, partner. “It is very exciting to have a practitioner who not only understands the importance of trade identity but our passion for delivering quality representation without the sticker shock that sometimes goes with retaining large general practice firms.”

During this economic downturn, Ladas sees opportunities. Not just in the opportunity to add more attorneys, but in ways to serve their clients while saving them money.

“Ladas & Parry is an international, intellectual property law firm with a long history of excellence in partnering with clients in addressing any domestic and foreign intellectual property issues which they may have including patent and trademark filings and prosecution, opinion work, patent and trademark litigation, licensing, copyright, domain name and trade secret matters,” says Richard Streit, Of Counsel and former partner of the firm. “With its own offices in London and Munich the firm is uniquely qualified to handle and coordinate these matters in the world’s two largest markets, the United States and Europe. Additionally, the firm’s professionals have considerable expertise in handling IP issues in virtually all other countries in the world. The Ladas & Parry advantage is the firm’s ability to provide in depth worldwide counseling and know how at reasonable cost.”
