USPTO Fee Increase Postponed

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) originally published a notice in the Federal Register to the effect that official fees at the USPTO were proposed to increase by 3.5% on October 1, 2006, which we reported on June 6, 2006.

Shortly before the increases were scheduled to go into effect, the USPTO published at note on the USPTO website to the effect that the increase had been postponed. Readers are notified that "Should any revision become necessary, it will be announced on this website as promptly as possible. USPTO customers should monitor this website for any updated information."
