United States - Accession to Madrid Protocol

As we previously advised by a Special Information Bulletin, the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks ("Protocol") entered into effect in the United States on November 2, 2003. Additional information concerning the functioning of the Madrid Protocol and its advantages and disadvantages for US trademark owners is available at our website at www.madridprotocol.info. It is important to remember that it is not yet possible to submit applications for International registrations electronically to the USPTO, as they have suspended the implementation of electronic filing until November 2, 2004.
