Norway - New Design Law A new Norwegian design law was enacted on May 1, 2003 which conforms with the EU Design Directive. Previously excluded designs which now may be protected include: graphic symbols, fonts, computer screen displays, parts of products, and interiors. The grace period for filing a design application has been extended to 12 months from any publication of it. However, the priority term remains as 6 months. The term of protection has also been increased from 15 years to a possible 25 years.
