The Korean Patent Office changed its procedure with effect from July 1, 2003 having regard to design protection for computer images. From that date it has been possible to obtain protection for graphical user interface designs, icons and graphic images, for example, used in screen savers, characters and 3-D animation. Protection will be provided for both static and moving images.
