European Patent Convention (EPC) - New Members

Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Slovak Republic have become members of the European Patent Convention with effect from July 1, 2002 and can be designated in European Patent Applications filed on or after that date. It is expected that other Central and Eastern European countries that were originally expected to join the Convention in the summer of 2002 will join later this year.
