Czech Republic - Patent Term

A recent amendment to the Constitution of the Czech Republic has apparently made the TRIPs Agreement directly applicable as part of national law. One consequence of this is that all patents that were in force when the new Constitution came into effect on June 1, 2002 automatically have a term of twenty years from their filing date, irrespective of the fact that they were originally granted for a shorter period.
