Vietnam - Patent Law Amendments The Vietnamese Patent Ordinance has been amended to make it clear that diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical methods for treatment of humans or animals are not patentable. Additionally, the new law bars the grant of patents on essentially biological processes for the production of plants or animals, other than microbiological processes. The new Ordinance also makes it clear that the term of all patents granted since 1989 have a term of twenty years from their filing date. |
