Kazakhstan - Patent Law Amended The Kazakh Patent Law has been amended. The main changes are as follows: 1) the grace period which applies to excuse prior publication by the inventor before filing of an application has been reduced from twelve months to six months; 2) the period within which substantive examination must be requested is reduced from four years after filing to three years after filing; and 3) the possibility of compulsory licensing if a patented invention is not worked for four years has been introduced. |
