Nauru - Trademark Applications Accepted

We have been advised that the Republic of Nauru has adopted the Australian Trade Marks Act of 1955-1958 as its trademark law. However, pending the establishment of administrative machinery to implement the Act, Nauru is accepting trademark applications to protect trademarks in Nauru.

Applications may be made for registration of trademarks in Part A or Part B of the Register, and goods in only one class may be covered by each application. Such applications will be accepted now for future processing, although it is unclear whether such applications will receive any priority treatment once the Trade Marks Act is implemented.
