Sudan - Imposition of United States Sanctions

On November 4, 1997, President Clinton issued an Executive Order prohibiting "the importation in the United States of any goods or services of Sudanese origin" and "the exportation or reexportation to Sudan of any goods, technology (including technical data, software or other information), or services from the United States". Subsequently, the Office of Foreign Assets Control issued revised Sudanese Sanctions Regulations, authorizing the transaction of most intellectual property matters in Sudan.
