Estonia has adopted a design law. Protection is available for the external appearance of articles. Novelty is to be judged on a world-wide basis subject to a six-month grace period in respect of disclosures by the applicant or deriving from the applicant.

Designs will be registered for an initial five-year term which can be extended for two further five year terms.
