San Marino - New Industrial Property Law

The Republic of San Marino, an independent state located in central Italy, enacted its first Industrial Property Law on June 24, 1997. The law, which provides for the registration and protection of patents, industrial designs, trademarks and service marks, will not become operative until an industrial property office is established. We shall therefore reserve our comments on the provisions of the new law until its implementation can be expected to take place.
