Iceland - New Trademark Act

We have been advised that a new Trademark Act entered into force in Iceland on June 1, 1997. Our sources indicate that the new Act provides for post-registration opposition practice, and for the use of the Madrid Protocol in Iceland. We shall reserve our detailed comments on the provisions of the new law until an English translation is available.

Editor's Note: See our subsequent report in our March 1999 Newsletter.
