The Chinese Government has announced that following the reversion of Hong Kong to Chinese sovereignty, designations of the People's Republic of China in a PCT application will be deemed to include a designation of Hong Kong and that it will advise the WIPO no later than December 31, 1997 of the steps that will be required to enter the national phase in Hong Kong.
