Greece - Joins Hague Design Convention

Greece at present has no domestic law for the protection of designs. However, WIPO has announced that Greece has now joined the Hague Design Convention with effect from April 18, 1997. We are advised that the necessary Presidential Decree to implement this treaty domestically has not yet been published but that when it is it will incorporate a provision creating a national design law. Until the decree is published, the effect of Greece's "joining" the Convention is unclear.
