An amended version of the Czech Consumer Protection Act recently entered into force outlining the obligations of sellers, producers and importers when selling products or rendering services. While the amendment does not specifically refer to trademark protection, it prohibits deception of consumers, such as providing false, unsubstantiated, incomplete, unclear or exaggerated information, or concealing information as to the nature of goods and services or conditions of purchase, provides a duty to furnish information, and includes a prohibition barring sellers from removing product information or information relating to services furnished by the producer, importer or supplier.
