In our April 1995 Newsletter (N.S. 185), we reported that, in accordance with the provisions of the peace treaty between Jordan and Israel, Jordan would soon be implementing the removal of boycott restrictions that had prevented business from being conducted between the two countries. Jordan declared that, effective April 13, 1996, boycott clearance would no longer be required to transact intellectual property rights in Jordan and that, effective April 20, 1996, Israeli applicants would thereby be permitted to register trademarks and/or patents.
