As anticipated in our November 1995 Newsletter (N.S. 186), Israel has
deposited its instruments of accession to the Patent Cooperation
Treaty and became a member with effect from June 1, 1996.
Israel has also adhered to the Budapest Convention on
International Deposit of Microorganisms so that any requirement to
deposit a microorganism in order to provide sufficient disclosure
in a patent application related to it can now be met by deposit of
the microorganism with any International Depository Authority and
transport of a sample to Israel is no longer required.
