Cuba - Selected Economic Sanctions by the United States Lifted to Permit Payment of Expenses for Intellectual Property Protection

Effective October 17, 1995, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Treasury Department restored the general license allowing United States parties to make payments to Cuba for the transaction of intellectual property matters in Cuba. The general license, which had previously been in place since the 1960's, was revoked last year as a result of President Clinton's efforts to restrict the flow of foreign currency to Cuba.
