Our Information Letter N.S. 182 contained a brief note on Decision 344 of the Andean Pact prescribing harmonized rules for plant variety protection in Andean Pact countries. Colombia has now implemented this Decision by Resolution 1893 of the Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario and it is expected that a plant variety protection office will be opened soon.
