With effect from January 1, 1995, the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks and the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks entered into force in Latvia, according to its instrument of accession deposited with the World Intellectual Property Organization.
