Lithuania - Extension of European Patents

For European patent applications filed on or after July 5, 1994 it has been possible to request that a European patent arising from such an application be extended to Lithuania. Such a request must be made at the time of filing the application and an appropriate fee must be paid. Additionally, any PCT application filed after that date which designates both the EPO and Lithuania is assumed to be a request for the extension of the European patent to Lithuania. The arrangements are essentially the same as those for extension of European patents to Slovenia which are already in effect as was reported in our Information Letter N.S. 182.
