Argentina - Basing Patent Protection on Foreign Patents

In our April 1994 Newsletter (N.S. 183) we reported on Argentine Patent Office Resolution 221 that provided for simplified prosecution of Argentine patent applications if one submitted a copy of a patent granted in another jurisdiction in which strict examination was conducted. We have subsequently been advised that matters are not quite as simple as was hoped and that the Argentine Patent Office may still raise objections against applications even if these are in the same form as a patent that has been granted in a strict examination jurisdiction.
