A provision in the Trademark Law relating to the destruction of infringing or counterfeit goods has been amended with respect to particular products. Previously, all goods which were deemed to be counterfeits or infringements, together with the equipment used to produce them, were directed to be destroyed. Under the amended law, in the case of clothing and foodstuffs and other products for human consumption, the counterfeit or infringing markings shall be removed from such goods in the presence of a judge and the parties, after which the goods are to be donated to a charitable institution. However, if the infringing markings cannot be removed from the products, the products will be destroyed.
